Bachelor Project
As the final exam in the Bachelor program at Aarhus University School of Engineering, my colleague Morten and I designed and constructed a toy model of an MRI.
The toy serves to instruct children about their upcoming procedure and make the experience less uncomfortable.
The toy is equipped with several sensors, to be able to detect the different doll types and their presence.
Via a motor the bed can move in and out of the machine.
During a scan audio is played via an in-built speaker to simulate the real experience.
On the side on the toy, a small display shows an interactive video when it is scanning.
The project was carried out in two iterations, first constructing a bare-bone version, as a learning experience.
The project was managed and documented using SysML
The project was carried out in partnership with Skejby Hospital, who kindly lend their inputs to the project both before, during and after completion.
